Hi, I'm Emilee Blakemore a student at Pepperdine University studying Journalism with a particular interest in the broadcast industry.
I grew up in Enumclaw, Washington, a small farming town about an hour Southeast of Seattle. Throughout middle school and high school, I found a passion for video production both in and outside of the classroom. After receiving a GoPro for my birthday one year, I began filming things and splicing together little montage videos. This hobby was further developed at school taking related course work in video and media production classes. My interest expanded from video production to other related fields like graphic design and photography. By my sophomore year of high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a degree in a related field.
Outside of the classroom, sports and the outdoors have been a big part of my life and have shaped me into the person I am today. I trained in Tae Kwon Do for nine years, starting at 4 years old, and received my black belt when I was just 13 years old. In the winter, I was on the ski slopes every weekend with family and friends enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest winters. Over the course of my primary education I played almost every sport available, however in high school I fully committed to playing competitive soccer. I played on my high schools girls soccer team all four years as well as a year-round club travel team.
Now, I am in my senior year at Pepperdine. Throughout the course of my time at Pepperdine thus far, I have taken many classes and participated in extracurriculars that have advanced my skills in video and media production. As I am approaching the end of my undergraduate degree, I am seeking internships or related work to further refine my skills and gain valuable experience.
